It’s hard to know where to start but in short our stay at Four Season Jimbaran Bay was superb. It completely exceeded our expectations with the real magic coming courtesy of the staff. Everyone, and I mean absolutely everyone, was so friendly and engaging. Simply we felt like a King and Queen.  Each staff member seemed to immediately know our names. Senior Managers made a point of introducing themselves promptly and frequently checked throughout our stay how we were enjoying the hotel.

RESORT STANDARD:

This is a beautiful, well kept property with lush tropical plants lining the paths. It’s built for privacy so it’s perfect for a romantic getaway.

FOOD:

The breakfast and in-room dining were excellent with the Four Season’s Sundara restaurant being the highlight of our eating experience in Bali. Apart from Sarong Restaurant, which is in Seminyak, in hindsight we would have been happy to eat at the hotel every night.

BAR:

It’s worth heading to the Pool Terrace for happy hour between 5-7pm to watch the sun go down and enjoy the music.

WHAT TO WEAR:

It’s casual as you’d expect but the guests at the Four Seasons made an effort to dress up even for breakfast. Pack sun hats and floaty dresses. I wore wedges out to dinner because I like dressing up but flat shoes are perfectly fine. My go to top was by Alice & Trixie. Perfect for Resort Wear Travel.

VILLA:

Our Premier Ocean Villa had its own pool and fabulous ocean view. Private, very spacious, clean. Exactly as seen on the website. Heavenly.

THE SPA:

Of course in Bali you have to have at least one massage so we indulged at the Four Season’s Spa. A glorious experience. The oils they used….divine.

THE GYM:

We used the gym  each day which was very well appointed, large and clean.

THE FOUR SEASONS APP:

I used the Four Seasons App which was brilliant!  This provides a live ‘chat’ option and I used it to arrange anything we wanted….a buggy ride….restaurant booking…..etc. I absolutely loved the convenience.

BALI TRAFFIC:

There’s no point beating around the bush with this. The traffic is horrendous! If you want to have dinner in Seminyak allow up to 2hrs for the 15km drive from Jimbaran Bay!! There is a new underpass which has been completed since our visit so that may help to relieve some traffic congestion. I recommend that you book a private driver who will look after you for all of your driving needs. Our driver, Sam, was fabulous!

TIPPING:

Tipping is done in the local currency. We are seasoned tippers and I have to say that the staff almost reluctantly, but extremely graciously, accepted the tips.

ARRIVAL:

We were warmly greeted by staff in a beautiful open lobby. Cold towels were offered along with a delicious drink and Balinese blessing. A Senior Manager introduce herself and gave us her card in case we wanted to get in touch however we saw her each day as she mingled and talked with guests. Impressive!

TRAVEL TIPS:

WARNINGHave your AIR TICKET information handy for arrival at Immigration. I had an ‘unwelcoming’ experience where my husband had gone through immigration and yet my immigration officer thought it would be fun to ask to see my PRINTED air tickets. I have never been asked this before! Fortunately I had actually printed them but they were buried with our travel documents. It caused a few moments of hot sweatiness!

OVERALL:

The Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay is a gorgeous hotel with outstanding service, excellent food and delightful staff. We would go back in a heartbeat.
